Individuals holding one of the following nonimmigrant visas have the same rights and privileges for applying for Texas residency as do U.S. citizens or permanent residents. When evaluating such persons' eligibility for Texas residency, institutions should follow the basic rules that apply to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
