Counseling and Health Services
Colleges and universities may also have "student health centers" on campus to meet students' health-related needs. These centers promote and maintain the physical and mental health of students through providing ambulatory medical services (access to doctors, nurses, clinicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, or therapists), health promotion and maintenance programs (wellness classes and clinics), and public health services (education). Some centers act as referal networks for students to help them find local health care providers if a provider is not available on campus.
