Academic Advising
The advising office (or in some cases the individual advisor if no office is available) provides guidance to students regarding the core curriculum, transfer of credits, requirements for application and admission to a major, information on internships and scholarships for particular majors, information on graduate school, and basic career guidance. In some cases, the academic advisor may be the official who approves (officially approves) the courses taken by the student for credit towards graduation.
